Abstract

Research examines emotional intelligence correlates among law enforcement officers, focusing on military veterans. Results show veterans report higher emotional intelligence than non-veterans, with specific demographic characteristics modestly associated with competency development. Findings suggest veteran background may predict emotional intelligence levels relevant to recruitment and retention strategies.
